Prophecies And Dreams: An Insight On What The Future Holds

Men desperately look forward to the fulfillment of a prophecy but not so much their own dreams.

Introduction:

Welcome my friend,

You already know how I feel about spending this time with you as we get to discuss a thing or two for the sake of learning something new.

In doing so, we aim to become better individuals; making everything and everyone around us better as we share ourselves with them through acts of service and positive influence.

Truly, this is only a discussion because there's someone on the other side, so I really appreciate it everytime you show up to play that role, bearing in mind that you avail and commit your time to it, even if it's just a few minutes.

That makes me think, "if you're not here on any of these Fridays where would you be?"

Well, I'd guess unwinding in one way or the other, after the hassles of the week.

For that, I hope the weekend brings you all the rest that you deserve.

If it's work time for you, then I wish you goodluck. Make those sales and close those deals.

In moving into our discussion of the day it's very important to contextualize the use of the two major words in our topic, Prophecies and Dreams.

Here, prophecies as we know it refers to spoken words of a person (believed to have a special spiritual gift) describing an event that is to happen in future, the way it'd happen and when it'll happen.

Overtime as these events continue to play out as the person has called it, they build for themselves a reputation of trust and reliability where people come to them in order to foretell their future maybe out of curiosity or anxiety.

On the other hand, our dreams come to us as imaginations, desires and plans; the vision for a better life, a better version of ourselves and an improved reality that brings us fulfillment.

While both prophecies and Dreams describe the possibility of an event to occur, we oftentimes find ourselves being more trusting of prophecies than dreams and our conversation today will be focused on understanding the reason it's so and why that line of thought could hinder us from actualising more.

Discussion:

When predictions about the future come to us from a person with a reputation of foretelling it, we immediately believe the likelihood of it.

Yet when we imagine a better future for ourselves we immediately push it aside because we doubt our ability to realize such aspirations.

This wouldn't be so if we thought of them to be similar to each other in the following ways:

▪︎ Source

Whether it's a prophecy or dream the origin of all pure ones is divine.

God reveals our purpose to us through the imagination and dreams he places in our hearts and we'll know it because they'll align with our abilities, talents, skills and gifts.

If we can trust the words of another because we believe in them, we can also extend the same belief in ourselves by seeing the possibility of realizing our visions and then putting in the work to make it happen.

▪︎ Conditional

The future can be altered by the decisions we make and the actions we take.

A great destiny is one that has decided to take the path of adapting good habits and lifestyles of discipline, dedication and commitment which are traits consistent with excellence and exceptionality.

If someone reveals to us that we have a blessing coming our way it may require us to play our own by availing ourselves to where these opportunities can find us.

When we give our best everywhere we find ourselves, we through our actions become our own prophets, creating beautiful futures for ourselves with the present.

▪︎ Time Bound

Since they both deal with the future, they take time to manifest.

We should give our vision and the efforts that we've followed through with, the patience it takes to become real knowing that good things take time.

If our conviction on a prophecy can make us wait years before it happens, we can as well give our dreams time to come together, giving each day our best without any loss of optimism.

Overcoming The Doubt

Self confidence comes from progress and progress is a state of improvement from what was obtainable.

Once we take the first step we'll be encouraged by the little accomplishments we make with each step.

Summary:

Whether we believe in one or both of these two, it's evident that it can influence our attitude and approach to life.

Adapting positivity where we're backing ourselves and pessimism where we feel that the odds are against us.

Yet the odds are always in our favour and as long as we can dream it we can achieve it.

The discernment to tell if we're indeed on the right path gives us the conviction to give life our best knowing that we have all it takes to become everything we've ever imagined.
